Since July 1, 2025, flame retardant wires and cables that have not obtained CCC certification and marked with certification marks may not be exported, sold, imported or used in other business activities.

Previously, the General Administration of Market Supervision has implemented CCC certification management for common non-flame retardant civil wire and cable products such as rubber insulation and polyvinyl chloride insulation. In recent years, with the increase of technology upgrade and use demand, the market share of flame retardant wire and cable is increasing, but because the civil wire and cable industry enterprise scale is generally small, lack of systematic quality management means, market competition and other reasons, wire and cable conductor discount party, the use of inferior cable material and other problems are repeated. In particular, due to the lack of mandatory market access requirements for flame retardant wire and cable, some companies even nominal their production of wire and cable without flame retardant performance as flame retardant wire and cable, deliberately evading CCC certification supervision.
